Trouble Every Day

December 13, 2024 | 1 Minute Read

Oh it’s a cannibalism sex disease. This was on my list of supposedly extreme horror movies that I’ve somehow missed over the years (the last one of these was Possession, which was incredible).

Basically what happens is Vincent Gallo and his new wife go to Paris and he mopes about a lot. Meanwhile, two young dudes are lurking outside the house where Béatrice Dalle is kept locked up (because she has a cannibalism sex disease). She has previously kept breaking out, picking up truckers and what-have-you, and then eating them after or during sex. Worse ways you could go, really. Her husband/doctor Leo retrieves her after these outings. It gradually becomes clear that both she and Vincent Gallo got this whatever-it-is in the same place, and she is at a much later stage than he is.

Three things happen: First, the young dudes break into the house, one of them has sex with Béatrice Dalle, but unfortunately she eats him. Second, Vincent Gallo goes to the house, she doesn’t eat him, because he strangles her to death and burns the house down. Third, Gallo is so frustrated that he can’t have sex with his new wife (because he might eat her) that he goes off and rapes a maid (and eats her).

That’s kind of the whole thing, and it’s, retrospectively, kind of dull.
